Brunch Benefit Event with Spencer Christian
You are invited to an exciting brunch event with Spencer Christian, renowned American television broadcaster, on November 4, 2018. A portion of the proceeds from this event goes to LitWorld.org.
You Bet Your Life!
How I Survived Jim Crow Racism, Hurricane Chasing, and Gambling
After more than 47 years in TV news, Spencer still wouldn't trade jobs with anyone in the world. He's been a news reporter, sportscaster, talk show host, and weather forecaster. Assignments and travels have taken him to all 50 states and 5 continents. He's had the privilege of interviewing 6 presidents, the most prominent figures in sports, world affairs, and the arts; and, most memorably, ordinary people who have done extraordinary things. Of course, there have also been unsettling moments--reporting from hurricanes, floods, blizzards, earthquakes, virtually every natural calamity known to mankind--but he can't imagine any career path that would have been more enriching or rewarding. Come hear Spencer talk about his amazing career and life and enjoy a delicious dinner, wine, and a signed copy of his new book, "You Bet Your Life: How I survived Jim Crow Racism, Hurricane Chasing, And Gambling." This event will be held at a private home in San Rafael, Marin County. It is open to couples and individual guests.
Strengthening kids and communities through the power of their own stories.
